Abstract
Plea negotiation has become a dominant mode of case disposition in the criminal justice system. However, the quantitative impact of the police on this process has yet to be fully understood. The present research investigates the effect of police-prosecutor "cooperation" on the bargaining decision in one state. The results indicate that as police-prosecutor cooperation increases, the propensity of the prosecutor to bargain decreases.
