Abstract
General considerations are given of the use of microdiffraction techniques in biological work. A cylindrical microcamera which permits registration of rotation photographs, as well as flat plate and fibre photographs is described. It has been successfully applied in the study of the crystallographic structure of single statoconia from man and some vertebrates. Rotation patterns from parts of single haversian systems in bone tissue and from thin splits of tooth enamel have also been recorded.
