Abstract

We spend the majority of our healthy years in employment. With retirement ages increasing and a reduction in healthy lifespan, the interactions of work and health are growing ever more complex. This article serves as an introduction to occupational medicine for GPs supporting patients’ healthy working lives. As well as looking at some common occupational conditions, this article will explore avenues to further training in occupational medicine.
