Abstract
This article explores the ways in which British Big Brother viewers experienced and responded to the 2005 UK general election. On the basis of 10 surveys, which included open-ended questions, the research aimed to discover how, if at all, Big Brother viewers translated sensitive and nuanced techniques for judging game-show contestants into the context of a political election campaign.
