Virtual Reality and Urban Simulation in Planning: A Literature Review and Topical Bibliography

Abstract

The following literature overview and bibliography was initially compiled while the author was a faculty member at Texas A&M University. The initial compilation was incorporated into a 1997 NSF grant application titled Virtual Reality and Urban Simulation Technology: Theory, Development and Application for Planning and Natural Hazards. The author accepted a position at the University of Louisville in June 1999, and in the fall of that year and the spring of 2000, the bibliography was updated to reflect the recent additions to this field. A selection of urban simulation–related Web sites are included in the last section of the bibliography.
