Abstract
In this article, the feasibility of using ferroelectric materials as a heat pump based on electrocaloric effect has been studied. Alternative switching of the electrocaloric elements generate directed heat flux. The dynamics of temperature variations at the inner boundary of a layered cylindrical structure to an applied periodic electric field have been studied in two different cases. These two different cases are the outer boundary convection condition and the outer boundary constant temperature condition. The inner boundary is insulated in two cases. Results show that different boundary conditions affect the heat pump performance.
