Abstract
The most important knowledge on the presence of lipids in tumours and their significance for fats metabolism are synthetically exposed. Fatty granules frequently occur in tumours (stroma and parenchymatous cells). In some cases their presence is related either to necrosis or to functional activity (secretion, etc.); in other ones. epithelial or connective in nature, there is a constant and diffused presence of fat, perhaps in close relation with fats metabolism.
