Abstract
196 cases of endometrial gland hyperplasy were studied in climateric and senile patients. A particularly high incidence was observed in women aged 41 to 55. The hormonal condition has been studied in 42 women by vaginal cytologic investigations. An accordance between endometrial and vaginal pictures was observed in the 83.8 per cent of the menstruated patients and in the 81.8 per cent of those in menopause. In the cases without vaginal hyperoestrogenism, the existence of an endometrial hyper-receptivity is thought to be probable, and could be regarded as responsible for an endometrial atypical degeneration.
