The Use of Reactions of Metathesis Polymerisation of Cyclic Olefins for the Production of a Dicyclopentadiene Polymer

Abstract

The results of a literature study of methods for producing polydicyclopentadiene (PDCPD) by the metathesis polymerisation of cycloolefins are given. Approaches to forming the components of the catalytic system are studied with the aim of creating a process for the production of PDCPD by reaction injection moulding technology using as far as possible Nizhnekamskneftekhim's own raw material. The present state and the prospects of the industrial production and consumption of PDCPD in Russia and in member countries of the CIS are considered.
