Abstract
Complaints about low frequency noise annoyance are frequently reported although the sound levels, measured according to usual procedures, do not seem to justify such reactions. In the present paper some experimental data, gathered by the authors, are illustrated. The results are analyzed on the basis of the available methodologies with the aim of giving a useful contribution to the discussion about the necessity of a special methodology for the correct evaluation of the low frequency noise annoyance.
