Abstract
Administrative practice in human services programs has distinctive characteristics that distinguish itfrom business administration and public administration. A specialized curriculum that includes both common elements of administrative practice and elements specific to human services administration is needed. Such a curriculum must include examination of the political economy of human service programs. This paper identifies some of the key aspects of the macro political economy, the operationalpolitical economy, and the interorganizational political economy that should be dealt with in a human services administration curriculum.
