Abstract

This article offers insights for companies and managers to understand how millennials’ traits contribute to fostering an environmentally sustainable workplace, ultimately aiding in achieving environmental sustainability. Employing mindful learning theory as its foundation, the article proposes a framework that leverages millennials’ characteristics to create a sustainable workplace. It highlights how millennials’ inclinations towards sustainability can shape eco-friendly work environments, allowing companies to align individual and organisational goals. This alignment, focused on responsible production and consumption (SDG 12), can drive progress towards environmental sustainability. The significance of this article lies in succinctly explaining millennial traits and their potential use by companies in cultivating sustainable workplaces, ultimately contributing to the pursuit of SDG 12.
