Abstract
A group of 108 retarded individuals possessing multiple handicaps in the auditory and visual areas were compared with a matched sample of non-handicapped on some 18 behavioral variables. A number of significant differences on particular variables supported a hypothesis of marked deficiency in responsiveness to others.
