Abstract
Brucellosis is considered the most important disease of cattle. It also affects goats and sheep and may even spread to farmers, veterinary surgeons and the general public. The need for eradication is apparent. While this has indeed been achieved in some countries, it still poses a major problem in most others. The author discusses the techniques available and the difficulties involved, with special reference to Great Britain, where an eradication scheme has recently been initiated.
