Abstract
Development of an economic system of sheep production is dependent on a number of factors, among which the reproductive pattern of the breed concerned is of prime importance. Knowledge of this pattern facilitates control of conception and lambing and makes it possible to increase prolificacy, to obtain two reproductive cycles in one year or three in two years or merely to arrange lambing to match market requirements or availability of feed.
