Abstract
For centuries bracken has robbed the grazier of thousands of acres of land that might otherwise be converted into good permanent pasture. Ploughing is usually impracticable on the moors and hills where the weed is at its worst, and neither cutting nor treatment with contact herbicides has a lasting effect. But good results are now being obtained by foliar spraying with systemic chemicals, and eradication in this way may yet be achieved.
