Abstract
Peas (Pisum sativum L.) continue to play an important but changing role in the agricultural and food industries. Although the vining pea industry has made considerable advances during the post-war era, it is the dried pea crop which is currently attracting most attention–-particularly in Europe. Unfortunately, this crop, in common with other grain legumes, is beset by many agronomic and inherent physiological problems.
