Abstract
In recent years the application of radioisotope techniques has facilitated considerable advances in knowledge concerning translocation in plants. Autoradiographic studies with carbon-14 show that in grasses the process follows the same general principles as in other plants. Nevertheless, the basic pattern is modified by the characteristic morphology of the grasses and affected by the grazing, manuring and cutting to which pasture is subject.
