Abstract
■ Drug resistant pathogens are becoming an increasing problem affecting paediatric patients requiring strict adherence to infection control hygiene measures to prevent transmission to susceptible patients. ■ Strategies utilised within three paediatric hospitals in Australia are considered and compared with the situation in the United Kingdom. ■ Networking with other infection control teams at other hospitals world-wide enables prompt sharing information and new developments. ■ The author presents the findings of an infection control travel award to Australia.
