Abstract
This paper deals with power supplies for electronic transmitting instruments as employed in the process control industries. Single and multiple transmitter schemes are considered, and from an analysis of the applicational problems often encountered, design recommendations are offered for both individual supplies and for overall systems. Consideration is made of the problems imposed by intrinsic safety applications and by requirements for enhanced system reliability.
