Abstract
This article notes the invocation of a notion of miniaturization in characterizing the new technological revolution and a relative silence in discussion thereof. It considers the influence of miniaturization in its moderate form on artifacts of everyday culture and on the design of those artifacts. In so doing, it invokes notions of affordance and below-the-line design.
