Psychiatric Morbidity among Service Wives: A Pilot Study

Abstract

The incidence of psychiatric morbidity in a group of naval wives is compared with that of civilian wives of the same age. Reference to hospital in-patient and out-patient facilities is used to define a case. The x2 test of statistical significance is applied to the results, which demonstrate a significantly higher incidence of morbidity in the wives of naval personnel.
