Abstract
Describes the principles and programmes for teaching information technology in the Department of Library and Information Studies of the University of Botswana. Discusses the question of why to teach information technology, the changing situation of information technology in developing countries and issues and problems in teaching information technology. Reviews the future of information technology training in the Department.
