Abstract
The construction industry still faces unique challenges in fully replacing human labor with automation. This is due to the extensive reliance on manual work across a wide range of activities, including but not limited to tiling, masonry block laying, framing, and plastering. Another common issue in construction is the prevalence of delays in project submissions. These delays stem from various factors directly related to labor productivity. Moreover, project management teams often face considerable difficulties when attempting to gauge manpower and productivity levels. Our objective is to identify the factors that most significantly affect labor productivity on construction sites in the Middle East by reviewing previous research on this topic. This review aims to answer: (1) How do studies assess factors influencing productivity among construction workers in the Middle East? (2) Is there any research on the use of wearable or sensor-related devices in the construction industry in the Middle East?
