Dissociation and Violent Criminal Behavior

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine a range of dissociative phenomena that occurs with violent offend ers. Two studies were conducted to assess the dissocia tive experience in a criminal act. The first assessed the variety of dissociative experiences an offender had be fore, during and following a criminal act. The second study evaluated, more particularly, the Multiple Person ality Disorder (MPD) and its relationship to criminal behavior.
