Abstract
Following referrals for sex education to both the occupational therapy and psychology departments, a sex education programme was designed, developed and implemented for a selection of nine individuals with a learning difficulty who were resident at St Margaret's Hospital, Birmingham. A policy and guidelines for sex education were agreed before designing the programme, which was found to be successful and statistically significant as measured by the Brook Questionnaire on Social and Sexual Knowledge.
