Abstract
A postal survey of one general practitioner's elderly patients (over the age of 65 years) was undertaken to access the awareness of and perceived needs for community occupational therapy provision of equipment and adaptations. A high response rate was achieved (>80%). The results showed a general lack of awareness of this aspect of a community occupational therapist's role, and a population need previously unknown. The implications for resource planning are discussed.
