Issues Confronting Occupational Therapists Working with Terminally Ill Patients

Abstract

Occupational therapists, like alt who work with dying patients and their families, are subject to a considerable amount of stress. This article highlights the literature relevant to occupational therapy in order to outline factors contributing to this stress. A summary of suggested strategies for coping with stress and burnout for health carers working with dying patients is presented.
