C. A Proposed Operation for the Relief of Congenital Atresia of the Esophagus.

Abstract

A two-stage operation is proposed for the relief of congenital atresia of the esophagus: Stage 1. Cervical esophagostomy for drainage of the blind esophageal pouch. Stage 2. A transthoracic operation for the externalization of the lower esophagus, i. e., dorsal esophagostomy for feeding purposes.
