Abstract
Clinical and neuroradiological features of 12 patients with migrainous infarction are presented. They were derived from a series of 120 consecutive patients with juvenile infarction who were followed up. 11 patients had a family history and 11 a past history positive for migraine, one patient was diagnosed after follow up only. Eleven patients were able to describe slowly changing visual or sensory aura phenomena during the headache attack leading to the stroke, one event considered as migrainous infarction occured without headache. All the lesions were restricted to the supply area of the posterior cerebral artery. Persisting sensory and motor symptoms could be ascribed to ischemias of the thalamus and the posterior limb of the internal capsule.
