Abstract
With the financial ramifications of the Prospective Payment System, many home care agencies are turning to advanced practice registered nurses who specialize in wound care to help provide the most up-to-date and efficient wound treatment possible. Individual patient consultation, educational programs for staff, clinical record audits, and committee memberships are just a few of the ways the wound care APRN can be beneficial to home health agencies. This has positive outcomes for the patients whose healing is accelerated and for the home health agency that reduces cost and provides clinical support for staff.
