Abstract
As a result of a long-term exchange program between nurses in the United States and the Netherlands, nurses from both countries have shared their knowledge and expertise in health care. This article focuses on similarities and differences in community and home health care in the United States and Holland. American nurses met with their Dutch counterparts to discuss the historic development of nursing care and current practices. Cultural aspects were disclosed and an appreciation for each other's backgrounds evolved.
