Abstract
A review of the literature depicting the effects of drugs as they relate to proper nutrition is presented. Emphasis is placed upon the suggested mechanism for the interaction that takes place between the drug and the nutrient with the effect of the former on the nutrient's absorption and fate in, and excretion from, the body. The clinical significance of such interactions is pointed out with the proper method of preventing them or of diminishing their undesirable consequences.
