Environmentalism in families

Abstract

In this research note, we investigate how environmentalism is discussed and transferred in families. We used the University of Kentucky Libraries search engine and the PsycINFO database to collect and analyze the manuscripts that studied environmentalism in families or used the concepts and theories of the Family Studies field. Results of the published manuscripts revealed that family plays an important role in environmentalism. Parents and children influence each other, and this varies according to the culture and parenting style. The implications of the study are further discussed.
