Abstract
This report reviews about a dozen past and current research efforts employing Monte Carlo “computerized accommodated percentage evaluation” (CAPE) models. The CAPE class of models estimate the effects of imposed limits of the accommodated proportion of a population. Most extensively use in studies of aircraft cockpit and related workplace design, the model has been applied to other areas as well. Four validation studies, five completed application investigations, and three on-going application efforts are described. Prospects for future applications are also briefly discussed.
