Abstract
The use of “secular” psychology by Christian counselors or therapists is severely criticized by Martin and Diedre Bobgan. This article responds to six of their most forceful criticisms against the use of psychology by Integranonist counselors. Quotes taken from the Bobgans’ writings indicate that their model of Christian counseling has not been proven to be more effective for the client than the psychological models they criticize. Additionally, they commit some of the same logical mistakes that they criticize in integrationists and non-Christian counselors. The Bobgans inject disclaimers in their own writings and they are challenged here to clarify their positions on the integration of psychology and theology.
