Abstract
Reports the results of a survey, fund ed by the British Library, Research and Development Department, of systems librarian posts in UK libraries. Questionnaires were sent to 503 UK public, academic and other libraries, between October and December 1992, to determine the activities of systems librarians and the nature of the employing organi zations. Reports on the survey find ings concerning what systems librarians actually do, the kinds of stress they are exposed to, and the rewards of the job.
