Abstract
Poland syndrome: a case report
Poland syndrome (PS) is a rare congenital disorder characterized by the absence of the pectoralis major or minor muscle. This syndrome can be associated with a wide variety of other abnormalities.
This case concerns a 5-year-old boy with thoracic asymmetry without other clinical abnormalities or functional impairment. An ultrasound confirmed the absence of the pectoralis minor muscle. The additional pediatric examination, abdominal ultrasound and chest X-ray were normal. The characteristics, diagnosis and treatments of PS are discussed based on a literature review.
