Abstract
Scientific knowledge propagation is among the key functions of the Common Scientific Knowledge Digital Space (CSKDS), and the virtual exhibitions (VE) as an efficient instrument enable to accumulate heterogeneous scientific information on phenomena, events or scholars. The authors discuss the general issues and principles of VE organization, content selection, VE structure and main sections. Three VE types are specified, namely autonomous, remote and combined VE. Selection and content structuration methods are proposed for each of the types. The authors introduce extensibility and flexibility as VE characteristics. They also describe in detail the VE experience of the RAS Interdepartmental Supercomputer Center as a model CSKDS element. They describe the VE “Mrs. Penicillin” dedicated to Zinaida Vissarionovna Ermolyeva, a microbiologist who created the preparation of penicillin in the USSR in the late 1930s. The exhibition offers information about Ermolyeva, her scientific and pedagogical work. The study is accomplished at Russian Academy of Sciences Interdepartmental Supercomputer Center, branch of RAS Research Institute of System Analysis within the framework of the Government Order No. FNEF-2024-0014.
