Abstract
Starting from the positive output voltage-lift Boost converter, which has a higher voltage transformation ratio and reduced voltage stress across the semiconductors, the additional losses caused by the periodic recharging of the intermediate capacitor are analyzed. An additional inductor improves the efficiency of this converter. The dimensioning of this improved converter, its dynamic behavior, the inrush-current and a feed-forward control are treated. The considerations are supported by simulations.
