Abstract
Injuries and pathologies of the maxillofacial region are the most common consequence during sports. The prevalence of pathologies and injuries of the maxillofacial region varies depending on the type of sport they are engaged in, the degree of contact, as well as the age and gender of athletes. An insufficient number of studies have been conducted to study the effect of sports loads on the dentofacial system, so it is necessary to identify the prevalence of pathologies of the maxillofacial region and develop methods for preventing pathologies of the maxillofacial region in athletes when performing physical exercises Studies were conducted using the methods of clinical examination and electronic questionnaires of athletes who experience loads on the dentoalveolar system when performing training exercises. The research involved 50 people. Most athletes otherwise close their teeth when performing training exercises and experience discomfort in the maxillofacial region during training exercises. Few athletes have used any funds for the prevention and prevention of pathological changes in the oral and maxillofacial region.
In a relaxed state, most athletes close their teeth in a different way than when performing physical exercises. Because of this, there may be pathological changes in the maxillofacial region, which must be prevented at an early stage with the help of protective mouthguards.
