SEAM Update

Abstract

In February 2015, the Arid Model became the second digital earth model to enter production simulations under direction of the SEAM Phase II consortium on land seismic challenges. Numerical “shooting” on the first Phase II model, the Barrett Unconventional Model (see the April 2014 issue of TLE), was completed in June 2014, and classic data sets comprising nearly 40 terabytes (TB) of compressed data from nearly 45,000 simulated shots, with three-component recordings made in a variety of surface and borehole arrays, were distributed to members in the fall.
