Abstract
The internal damping of the Askania gravimeter introduces both phase lag and attenuation into its measurements. Without adequate signal restoration, correlation between data collected on adjacent survey lines is misleading. A simple weighting function of either five or six terms, depending upon the data‐recording method used, can adequately restore both amplitude and phase and also recover data apparently lost while the gravimeter settles down after course or speed changes or meter adjustments.
