Abstract

The Women's Network Committee (WNC) is excited to follow April's inaugural “Full Spectrum” column on dual-career couples with an examination of the degree of gender diversity within SEG, focusing on leadership and honors and awards. Diversity is an asset; different points of view give us more solutions to ever more challenging problems. Women are becoming a more important part of the technical workforce at a global scale. The geophysical community has been educating and training women at ever-increasing rates over the past few decades. As a profession, an industry, and a society, we have much invested in this tremendous resource. Are these resources being used to their fullest potential?
