Abstract

For the second order boundary value problem, y + f ( y ) = 0 y+f(y)=0 , 0 t 1 0\leq t\leq 1 , y ( 0 ) = 0 = y ( 1 ) y(0)=0=y(1) , where f : R [ 0 , ) , f:\, \mathbb {R}\rightarrow [0,\,\infty ), growth conditions are imposed on f f which yield the existence of at least three symmetric positive solutions.
