Abstract

A flag transitive affine plane of order 27 27 is constructed. The stabilizer of the origin of this plane contains a cyclic subgroup which is transitive on the lines through the origin. It is also shown that this plane is not isomorphic to the flag transitive plane constructed by Hering.
