Abstract

Let A {\mathcal {A}} be B {\mathcal {B}} be semisimple Banach algebras and let ϕ : A → B \phi :\mathcal {A}\to \mathcal {B} be a unital bijective linear operator that preserves invertibility. If the socle of A {\mathcal A} is an essential ideal of A {\mathcal A} , then ϕ \phi is a Jordan isomorphism.
