1. Kazi Md Zakir Hossain completed his PhD at the University of Nottingham (UK) in the area of cellulose-based nanocomposite materials. He also completed his undergraduate and Master’s studies in applied chemistry and chemical technology at the University of Dhaka (Bangladesh). He is currently employed as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Nottingham (UK) working with resorbable polymers and phosphate glasses for biomedical applications.

2. Muhammad Sami Hasan is currently employed as a postdoctoral research fellow at Dalhousie University (Halifax, Canada). He completed his Master’s studies between 2006 and 2007 and his PhD between 2008 to 2012 at the University of Nottingham. His main research interests are in bioactive and biodegradable materials, such as phosphate-based glasses, calcium phosphate cements and degradable polymers and composites.

3. Reda Felfel is currently employed as Lecturer of Biophysics at Mansoura University (Egypt). He graduated as a physicist in 2001 and obtained his MSc in polymer physics in 2005 also from Mansoura University. In 2013, he graduated with a PhD in materials engineering and materials design from the University of Nottingham. Over the past 4 years, he has focussed on phosphate glasses/fibers and bioresorbable composites for biomedical applications.

4. Ifty Ahmed focussed on manufacturing phosphate-based glasses and fibers for his doctoral research at University College London (UK). He is currently employed as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham (UK). Recently, his work has focused on the manufacture of natural fiber-reinforced composites, including the development of novel coating methods and materials, to improve the interfacial properties between fiber and matrix.
