1. Since in this study the actual Starting transient of a solid rocket motor is investigated. the initial conditions must reflect the actual values of the flov field variables at time t-0. Therefore, both components of the velocity have been set equal to zero, u-v-0, and ambient values have been chosen for pressure end temperature, everywhere in the flov field. Density and internal energy 81-8 obtained from the equation of state. The turbulent kinetic energy, k, and Its dissipation rate, c, are also zero initially. However, imposing the values vould lead to a singularity in the k and c equations; thus B very small (but not zero) value has been assigned to these two variables.
