1. Even if, at first glance the experimental results were disappointing as the splice effect had not been demonstrated with the initial full scale demonstration, this experiment has demonstrated a very important point, in that it shows that the propagation of BPF is very sensitive to impedance discontinuities. The experience suggest that a full scale zero splice inlet has to be truly zero splice, which means that the maximum splice dimension has to be smaller than the 15-20 mm inlet demonstrator splice width, which scattered the 1BPF modal content and then degraded the entire acousticbenefitsoftheZSItechnology.
